    St. Louis Renaissance Faire

Monday, June 16, 2008, 11:28 PM CST [General]

We went to the St. Louis Renaissance Faire on it's last weekend of the season. It was pretty hot, but at least we missed the floods they had a few weeks prior.

This was our second time to attend this faire and we had just as much fun as the first time (even though everyone was baking). It was also our oldest son's birthday, and the Limeybirds took care of him! Just love those girls. Great singers & fun to watch.

The Limeybirds are probably one of our favorite acts. They put on a good show, and you never know what might happen! Even though Charity took a knock on the noggin' Saturday, the Limeybirds carried on. Thankfully she is ok and we look forward to seeing her again in Louisiana. Some of the nicest girls you'll ever meet. Good sense of humor and very entertaining. Highly recommended.

Finally got to see the Musical Blades for the first time after listening to their music on the Renaissance Festival Podcast & Bilgemunky Radio for a while now. Great show. If you get a chance to see them, it is well worth it. I was going to get their CD, but they had sold out! They made the announcement that if anyone wanted to order their CD's from their website, they would not have a shipping charge! How great is that?

3 Pints Gone put on a great show, as usual. They really do justice to Barrett's Privateers and A Sailor's Prayer. Wonderful harmonies. We are looking forward to seeing them in September at the Pirate Festival. Wish we could see them perform more often, but distance keeps that from happening.

The Pirate Shantyman & Bonny Lass put on a lively show that even the kids really like. Who doesn't like a pirate? Funny and entertaining, what more do you need. The Bonny Lass kept having problems getting the Shantyman to the stage to start the show, so she got all the kids in the audiance to chase him down and bring him to the stage. Great fun.

There was much more, Jamison the Juggler, The Sword Swallowers, Robin Hood & Maid Marion, Chuvani Bellydancers, and things for the kids to do in the Kids Kingdom. If you get the chance to attend the St. Louis Renaissance Faire, it will be well worth your time.

Pictures should be up this weekend.
